MULTI-SPECIES CHARTER
The Smorgasbord — our most popular trip!
The Smorgasbord: Alaska's Ultimate Fishing Adventure
If you want to experience the absolute pinnacle of Alaskan sportfishing, our Multi-Species Smorgasbord is exactly what you are looking for. As our most requested and highly-reviewed trip, this full-day offshore expedition targets Pacific Halibut, King or Silver Salmon, AND Rockfish—all in a single, action-packed day.
Fishing for multiple species requires an incredibly capable vessel, a vast arsenal of premium tackle, and a captain who operates with military precision. By booking the Smorgasbord, you are securing a masterclass in Gulf of Alaska fishing.
Choreographing the Perfect Day
Every multi-species trip is uniquely choreographed by your captain the night before, taking into account the nuanced tidal exchanges, wind directions, and recent bite reports.
- The Deep Drop (Halibut): We usually capitalize on slack tides to run deep for Pacific Halibut. You'll drop heavy jigs and massive circle hooks to the ocean floor, battling powerful bottom-dwellers.
- The Trolling Lanes (Salmon): Once the current picks up, bottom fishing becomes difficult. This is the perfect time to fire up the kicker motor, drop the high-speed downriggers, and troll flashers and spoons along migratory underwater cliffs for acrobatic Silver Salmon or massive King Salmon.
- The Pinnacle Jig (Rockfish & Lingcod): To round out the day, we navigate to rocky nearshore reefs and kelp beds. Here, we switch to lightweight spinning tackle and cast grub-tails to entice aggressive strikes from vibrant Yelloweye Rockfish, Black Rockfish, and the dinosaur-like Lingcod.
Fill Your Freezer
The Multi-Species charter is notoriously famous for yielding the most colorful, diverse, and heavy coolers in the Homer Harbor.
